Grants
We are committed to fostering the growth of lacrosse at all levels, and we believe in providing essential support to emerging programs and established clubs alike, empowering them to expand their reach and impact within their communities.
The club utilises grants and donations to support a variety of causes, including:
Equipment for junior clubs
Coaching & officials
Working with clubs doing Lacrosse programmes to support their development
Below are some of our recent grants that we’ve provided in order to support Lacrosse
Sevenoaks Sharks
February 2025
Following the great success of the work in the Bromley Schools Partnership, Mike Barrett has been asked to expand into the Sevenoaks Schools. To be able to do this there was a requirement for 20 pairs of youth gloves.
Centurion were delighted to supply these and look forward to seeing the Sharks develop
West Oxford Schools Partnership/Oxford City Lacrosse Club
January 2025
Oxford City Lacrosse Club have developed the opportunity to start a Pop Lacrosse programme in 6 schools based in West Oxfordshire. The concept is to get the children playing, then arrange inter school matches, leading to a tournament where the winner goes on to represent Oxford at the National Schools Pop Lacrosse Tournament.
This ambitious programme has meant that The Lacrosse Foundation and Centurion Lacrosse Club have worked together to ensure adequate equipment is available to all children.
The project is being driven by Annabelle and Lexie, with the support of Rick Henshaw, who was the first England Lacrosse Development Officer. We wish them well with this project.
Warwick Medical School
September 2024
A start up venture driven by Georgia Laidlaw to introduce mixed lacrosse to the Medics. There was a requirement for sticks and goalie equipment to supplement the personal equipment Georgia and a couple of others had acquired. With 30 people already signed up and the use of Warwick University grounds arranged, coupled with the support of the Medical School, a great nucleus to get going was in place.
Centurion Lacrosse Club were delighted to provide some equipment to give them a starting point.
Leicester Lacrosse Club
August 2024
A project request driven by expansion. Leicester are doing development work and coaching in three local universities, which has created the need to expand from one Men’s team to 2 Men’s teams and a Women’s team. It also meant that they outgrew their facilities which meant a move to a local rugby club.
Centurion Lacrosse Club purchased for them some barrier netting to reduce the umber of lost balls, and a goal shooting target to improve their accuracy. Teams are already under way and playing in the Midlands Lacrosse Network
Universities
Our current venture aims to assist students beginning lacrosse at their chosen universities. With over 100 universities, to which the government intends to send approximately 50% of all young people, we have a fruitful source of potential players and leaders for our existing clubs, as well as pioneers to establish new clubs.
