For the first time post covid, we met for a Centurion Lunch, which was held at The Counting House in the City of London.

A huge array of lacrosse people assembled to meet new friends and old, chat about our sport, enjoy a meal and a few drinks. We also were lucky enough to have our guest speaker Annabelle Akintoye, Captain, England Women’s Box Team.

She made us a laugh and got a huge laugh when she suggested that “we should be like her and if we get the opportunity to kit up and try box, we should”. I think some of us would have taken longer to get all that kit on than the game lasts.

Special mention to Tom Gare who made the trip from Manchester for the event and was reunited with two of 1974 England team mates and the daughter of David “Woggy” Walkden who was the tour manager.
